Marriage Problems Identify and EliminateMarriage isnt always the happy ever after that its fabled to be. In fact, unless you have something of a charmed existence, marriage can be hard work and most couples if they are honest will admit to having some kind of marriage problems at some time or other during their wedded life. In most cases it doesnt mean that the marriage was a mistake, or that its over in fact theres a train of thought that argues that a couple of issues that create small marriage problems prevent it from going stale!
Occasionally however, marriage problems move away from the trivial bickering of not folding the newspaper the right way, or putting chairs back under the dining room table nice. Sometimes they move into a much darker area
and the marriage then starts to show signs of crumbling, and its up to the couple to identify the cause of the problems and find a joint solution if the marriage is to continue. There are some areas which couples will have as non-negotiable. These could be concerning past addictions such as drugs, gambling or alcohol and it could be that if one partner had this kind of addition in their past, and it was a condition of the marriage that they never went back to this life, that if they do so the marriage is automatically over because the other partner feels betrayed and is not prepared to provide the support required to clear the addiction again. Another common marriage breaker is often the addition of another woman or another man to the relationship. Adultery is something that neither men nor women seem to accept within their marriage if they are not the partners playing away from home on the other hand, if they are the partner who is committing adultery, then they are sometimes surprised as the violent reaction their behavior brings out in their husband/wife. These kinds of marriage problems are not always surmountable and often are the cause of many marriages failing.
For marriage problems that are not on such a grand scale, but are above the petty different personalities learning to live together scale, then each couple needs to be aware that they are both responsible for keeping the marriage in good shape. Any time a potential problem starts to show its head, and then it needs to be brought out into the open. Marriage destroying problems will lurk in the shadows and they arent discussed. Communication is the greatest weapon any couple has in their bid to identify and eliminate marriage problems from their relationship. Simply talking about whats going on in their lives, and each taking an interest in whats happening in the others life, can help eliminate any feelings of being shut out. Sharing thoughts and opinions in a respectful manner will go a long way in building a healthy marriage.
In a marriage, the cracks often appear because of an outside party being allowed to influence what happens within the couples home and that could be a family member or close friend. There needs to be a commitment between the married couple that they will not allow anyone to be disrespectful to the other. Another influence that belongs within the marriage that can cause problems is with children. Couples need to have a shared strategy for raising their children so that marriage problems dont arise from a resentment of neither parent believing their role/opinion is supported by the other.
Marriage needs to be watched in order to survive. There are many things that can threaten even the most harmonious looking marriage, and so good communication and mutual respect are essential in order to identify and eliminate any marriage problems before they can do much, if any, damage.
