Long Distance Relationship and Love Affair Singles AdI placed an ad in the local papers, only to see if I would get a response. I was not lonely, or desperately seeking a man. In fact, I was embarrassed, but I wanted to see if the program worked. I was astonished when I received hundreds of response to my ad. As I listened to the various voices in the mailbox, I stumbled upon one voice that I knew I must answer. After we spoke on the telephone, I knew I must remove my ad from the Single's Columns. I knew the man at the other end of the line was the man for me the moment we spoke on the phone. After talking about six months on the phone, we both decided it was time for us to meet. In my small rural town, I never thought I would find romance. Instead, I found love, romance, and ecstasy. The night we
met the man took me to his mother's apartment where he was staying at the time until he accumulated enough money to buy his own house, in which he did so three-years later.
That first night as I looked into his dark eyes, and listened as he spoke in the sexiest tone and softest voice I had ever heard, I knew I wanted him. At his mother's house we talked, shared feelings, and thoughts repeatedly through the night. He rolled out the hide-a-way couch and said to me, "I would love to lie next to you and hold you, but I respect you as a lady."
Oh, how I would have liked to, not be a lady that nightI was so-into him. His voice was magnetizing. The next day he took me to Wal-Mart and bought me a new pair of hiking shoes. He said to me, "no woman of mine is going to walk around in old, worn out shoes."
I was not much into new, only into the comfortable luxuries. Yet, I accepted his offer and felt a sense of compassion and embarrassment as a result. No one really cared whether my needs were fulfilled before this man came into my life.
As I drove away this day, I longed for the moment that we would meet again. That day came the follow week. Shockingly, he rented a hotel room and asked me if he should get his own room? "No, I said." I knew we would be together that night.
As we sat and talked about various topics, he left to go to the store to buy drinks. We sat drinking; talking, and finally he put his hands on me. His hands touched me in a way I had never been touched before and longed to be touched in that way again.
The night lasted, but ended quickly. From that time forward, we talked on the phone, met in hotels, and shared pictures across the Internet. Since 1993, I have never regretted placing my ad in the Single's Columns and if I had to do it again, I most certainly would.
Even when I had moved from that small, rural town, his memory followed, sparking me to call him on the phone. Today we still love each other and it does not look like anything is about to change, yet our relationship is a long-distant love.
The many stories of love and relationships developed through single ads rarely end as this story did. Some people look for love and relationships in various places including abroad the Internet or through Single Ads. Some relationships work out, but more than not have fallen into a web of hurt and despair.
While this person in the example shows the elements that compose a strong relationship, the tools that make it last are non-existing. Thus, the woman continues to communicate with the man over the phone and Internet, yet she rarely sees him, since he is consumed in work and working through his relationship with his children. Thus, will anything become of this relationship? The answer is left standing in the cracks of the two and how much lacking in their relationship each can take.
